Our goal is to improve an individual’s ability to make wise financial decisions, which will ultimately improve their quality of life, through financial education. So much of our well being depends on financial knowledge: the basics of balancing a checkbook; the pitfalls of credit cards and how to avoid high interest rates and late fees; scams; understanding our credit report, etc. All ages benefit from financial education – from grade schoolers learning how to manage their allowances, high schoolers and college students being bombarded with credit card offers, families facing college tuition for their children, the need to plan for retirement, and seniors who are often the target of scams. We provide grants to organization providing financial education – such as Junior Achievement, Asset Builders of America, Consumer Credit Counseling, Racine Literacy Council, Neighborhood Housing Services of Southeast Wisconsin, and schools, and to teachers who attend workshops for financial education. We also strive to educate through our web site. AnnualCreditReport.com This central site allows you to request a free credit report once every 12 months from each of the nationwide consumer credit reporting agencies: Equifax, Experian and TransUnion. You can also request your report by phone or mail.
